Install in four steps

  1. 1
    Run the installer
    Install outside the game folder so game patches never touch it.
  2. 2
    Pick server and character
    Choose them in the toolbar and enter your ProtocolVersion once.
  3. 3
    Register your key
    System › Register License… — or keep using it as Not Registered.
  4. 4
    Log in and press Begin Combat
    Set the panels up with part 1 of the guide first.

Find your ProtocolVersion

l2.exe -L2ProtocolVersion

Save it as a .bat file in the game’s system folder and run it.
